As Rotarians we are part of a truly unique worldwide organization. The first Rotary club was founded in 1905 by a Chicago lawyer, Paul Harris. Since then, RI has grown to become one of the largest service clubs in the world, with over 1,200,000 members in some 32,000 clubs in 168 countries.
From its headquarters in Evanston, Illinois, RI and its Foundation, supports the many collective efforts of individual Rotary clubs through a wide variety of programs, including:
· POLIO PLUS (committed to eradicate polio by the year 2010).
· AMBASSADORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS
· GRANTS to match funds that support Health, Hunger, and Humanity (3H) programs.
· LITERACY PROGRAMS
· ROTARY VOLUNTEERS in World Community Service
